Obituary

Mr. Wade Barr of 30 Moon Ln, Clinton, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the age of 77. He was born in Kinards, South Carolina on January 16, 1941, to the late Marcelles Sr. and Willie Mae Barr. He was a quiet, humble man whose work ethic spoke volumes.

Mr. Barr graduated in 1976 from Whitmire High School in Whitmire, South Carolina. He honorably served the United States Army National Guard after 20 years of service; which included tours in Vietnam and Alaska. He retired from Whitten Center after 30 years of dedicated service, as well as Fanczi Screw Co. Following retirement, he earned a Professional Truck Driving and Transport Training certification. He was also a member of The American Legion #56 in Clinton, South Carolina at the time of his passing. Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his loving parents, Marcelles Sr. and Willie Mae Barr; a son, Wade Barr Jr; a brother, Johnny Barr; and a brother-in-law, George "June" McMorris, Jr.

He was a devoted husband who is survived by his loving wife Mrs. Bobbie Jean Barr of 36 years; four daughters, Mrs. Patricia (Ronald) Swindler of Clinton, SC, Mrs. Waylon (Seon) Hobbs of Mt Laurel, NJ, and Mrs. Amy (Darlington) Briggs and Vanity (Kourtney) Barr-Little both of Tampa, Fl; one son, Allen Craig Sullivan of Clinton, SC; nine grandchildren, Tenisha (Donti) Lewis, Demetrick Swindler, Xavier Sullivan, Jaeden Hobbs, Zylen Wade Little, Nyla Hobbs, Kasen Little, Saven Little, and Sion Hobbs; and four great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his three sisters, Orrie (William) Edwards, Jessie (Miles) Clark, both of Greenville, SC and Banner (James) Ramsey of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, Marcelles (Julia) Barr, Jr of Thomson, GA; four sister-in-law's, Hattie Mae Boyd, Joanne (John) Carter, Mary McMorris, all of Clinton, SC; Kathleen Pitts of Cross Hill, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, and a loving pet companion Winter Cream Barr.
