Mrs. Martha Holmes Scurry, better known as Rose, was received into eternity on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Laurens County Memorial Hospital in Clinton, South Carolina. She was seventy-six years of age and resided at 104 Neighborhood Drive in Clinton, South Carolina. Rose was born to Albert Holmes and Jessie Mae Freeman on January 15, 1943. Rose was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Clinton, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Junior Scurry, her daughter, Sarah Louise Scurry and a brother, William Perry Holmes. Left to cherish many fond memories of Martha Rose Scurry are her loving children, Judy Ann Scurry, William Howard Scurry and Albert (Sleater) Scurry all of Clinton, South Carolina; her beautiful grandchildren: Anthony (Trina) Scurry, Montreal Scurry, Gary Scurry, Terrance Scurry, Lavette Scurry, Marquette (Henry) Kelly Wallace and Shameka D. Kelly; a host of adoring great grand-children; her devoted siblings, Luvenia (George) Franks of Clinton, South Carolina and Willie James (Joanne) Holmes of Greenville, South Carolina; sisters -in-law: Sarah Davis of Newberry, South Carolina, Bobbie Jean Scurry of Clinton, South Carolina, Rose Mary and Annie Ruth Scurry of Mountville, South Carolina; brothers-in-law: Henry Chalmers and Ricky L. Scurry of Clinton, South Carolina, James Howard Scurry of Mountville, South Carolina and Fred (Mary) Scurry of Des Plains, Illinois; and many extended family members and friends.
