With heartfelt sorrow, the family of Johnnie C. "Grit" McGowan announces his passing on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Prisma Health of Laurens County. He is survived by his children: Ocasio Gary and Tina Butler both of Clinton, SC; his siblings: Otis McGowan, Charles McGowan and Brenda Gary all of Clinton, SC and Pearl Galliard of New York; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and close friends.

Services for Mr. Johnnie McGowan were held on May 28, 2025 in the Childs Funeral Home Chapel.His final resting place is in the Orchard Park Memorial Gardens.
